Camping List!
Are you joining Troop 1089, but you don't know what to buy for campouts?
Here is what you need, and what we recommend!

Your Local Guidelines
This list may not be accurate based on the guidelines of the site you are camping at, and what activity you are doing. Make sure you double check about what is provided at the site, so you don't bring anything extra. It's always the best to bring a light load.

Insect Repellent
Insect Repellent is vital to keep yourself away from those pesky bugs.

A Good Backpack
If you are carrying a lot of stuff for a hike, or you need to keep things together, you need a backpack, so you can have easy access to your water bottle, snacks, etc.

First Aid
Just in case you get hurt, bring a first aid kit, so you can treat your injuries, and your fellow scouts injuries.

Snacks
Snacks are a good source of fuel for activities that require lot's of energy and time.

Mess Kit
A mess kit is like a plate with silverware. You use it as your plate. Instead of plastic plates being everywhere, use a mess kit to eat your meal.

Water Bottle
A reusable water bottle is necessary to stay hydrated for multiple days. During harsh conditions, water is vital for survival.

Tent
A tent is a portable shelter typically made of fabric (like nylon or canvas) stretched over a frame of poles. It provides protection from the elements like rain, wind, and sun, making it ideal for camping or outdoor activities. Tents come in various sizes, so you should be able to find the appropriate size.

Sleeping Bag
A sleeping bag is one of the most important things to bring along. It's like your cozy bed at home, but designed to keep you warm and comfortable while sleeping outdoors.

Lantern or any source of lighting that has a good battery.
A source of lighting is vital for navigation in the dark. When you arrive to your site around the evening, it's gonna be dark! In order to set up your tent, and get comfortable, you need to see. Bring a light!
